Larry Jones
Larry Jones is the founder and current president of Feed the Children. After witnessing terrible poverty at Port Au Prince, Haiti in 1979, he became determined to reach out and help poverty stricken children across the globe.
Having noted that the United States is blessed with an abundant supply of food, Larry Jones was inspired to launch the Feed the Children Foundation in order to extend America’s blessing to the starving children in other countries. As a result, he became the recipient of several recognitions coming from both national and international award-giving bodies. For his outstanding service, Larry Jones was the recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews, the H.J. Heimlich Humanitarian Award, as well as the National Caring Award.
So far, Feed the Children has extended its help to all 50 states of America, as well as to a total of 118 countries worldwide. The foundation currently maintains several operations across five continents and six distribution centers within the United States.
In addition to feeding the children, the foundation also provides truckloads of food and supplies to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Feed the Children is currently focused on helping communities that are greatly affected by the recent economic recession.
