Choose Your Betting Battles
In online poker as in life, money tends to go to money. That’s why big stacks at the poker table tend to keep growing bigger. The big stack pokerplayers have plenty of ammunition to scare other players off pots. They can make big bets and then scoop monster pots. When you have a small to medium chip stack and there are one or more big stacks at the table, you must choose your battles wisely. If there is a big stack betting behind you, then only play the most premium hands. You should avoid going up against big stacks when they bet ahead of you unless you’ve got a great hand. Don’t automatically defend your blind when the big stack raises it. In these situations, you should focus more on the smaller stacks and look for opportunities to put them all-in when you have a good online pokerhand. You have to choose the battles you can win where your ammunition can do some real damage. When you are outgunned by a big stack’s chips, then premium cards and trickery are the only ways you can win. Wait for the right opportunity to do battle because you will have to put all your chips on the line when you attempt to double up through a big stack.
